"We've played here several times when we were in town for SXSW. The owner of Nuno's, should still be there. He's always been a super nice guy and the club features 2 floors which hosts 2 bars and 2 performing acts at a time. Its a great environment with a great live sound for a venue. The front wall of the club is made of windows and opens up onto the street so that onlookers can watch the band performing downstairs (which is usually a blues band) directly from the street. The bartenders were nice as pie and the attitude around the place is very mellow."
Voted the "Best Honky-Tonk in Texas", whatever that means. Broken Spoke welcomes some good ol' country music. Gets a little hot in here, but with the combination of your adrenaline on stage and the energy that the audience vibes, you'll forget all about the sweat. It's has a musical history that dates back to Bob Wills and The Texas Playboys.

Booking: The best way to get a gig at Beerland is to know someone who has played there. Connections, connections, connections. If you don't know anyone, send a demo, but be warned, that's the slowest way to get a gig but it works. Check out their MySpace for more details.
This super cool venue is definitely a place where you want your band to play. This place is more chill then a penguin holding icecubes. Chill out on the patio with all your groupies after the show. email TheChief at themohawk dot com to book your gig. The stages are accompanied by high-definition projection capabilities, handmade canvas screen, and a double-sided bar.
Bars & Nightlife

"A small bar where they filmed parts of one of the seasons of MTV's "The Real World" show, which we were part of for a short while (we signed the TV release form after having video of us taken in 2003). The bar is your typical, kick-ass, Rock n' Roll type bar with an awesome sound man Ben Mills (formerly of the band Nooner) who also provided us awesome sound over at Nuno's. Every time we visited the place was packed and the beers were cheap, so if youre in the area, make sure to stop by for some good hard rock."

"A HUGE pool hall that also hosts dance music and live shows. The food there is your typical bar fare, but it's a little gormet and very good. In 2006 we saw Matisyahu play there to a HUGE crowd of SXSW onlookers. I actually ended up using the men's room and standing next to Matisyahu at the stall's, a great place to rub elbows with soon to be stars, even in a a clean restroom! haha!"
